Laser Printing Transfer
The laser transfer printing is done in two steps. First, the design is printed onto the transfer foil with a laser printer and then transferred from the transfer foil to the T-shirt or other textiles using a transfer press. Laser printing by means of this transfer technique allows the printing of all colors. You also have a wide range of textiles to choose from: You can print textiles made of cotton, mixed fabrics of all kinds or polyester.
In this video we will show you how the toner transfer on textiles, especially on cotton T-shirts, works. You print your design directly onto the A-foil using Ghost White toner and the other Ghost Color Toner. The printed A-foil is then transfered together with the B-paper under a suitable heat press and pressed onto your desired textile. Toner transfer is a fantastic way to customize textiles like cotton, felt, polyester, leather and even other surfaces like wood in a creative way. For this we use the Little Ghost printer, the matching Ghost White toner, the colored Ghost toner, the “Laserdark (No-Cut) A-Foil A4” and the “Laserdark (No-Cut) B-Paper A4”.
What are the advantages of laser transfer printing?
On average, you can wash garments printed with this technique about 40 times or more. Laser transfer printing is especially used when you want to produce small quantities with many colors. You can finish both light and dark textiles. This way you get a result that scores with great colors and an appealing look at a reasonable price and with a short processing time. Even multi-colored motifs come out well. Another big advantage is that laser transfer printing completely eliminates the need to cut and weed the motifs. So you can realize your creative ideas easily and uncomplicated.

How does laser transfer printing work?
With laser transfer printing you use a laser color printer to print your desired motif on a transfer foil upside down. In the next step you apply the motif to the desired textiles using the thermal printing process. With this process you can realize designs in high resolution as well as photorealistic motifs. You will need the right utensils for the laser transfer printing: the transfer foil, a laser printer and a transfer press.
With the appropriate transfer foil, the motifs can be realized and the haptics are also convincing. The transfer foil is also called A-Foil and works best in combination with a B-Paper. As a laser printer you can use a simple model; it is not necessary to purchase a special printer. When choosing the right transfer press it is only important to consider that it has a high pressure setting. This guarantees good results.

The individual steps at a glance:
1. you design the image to be printed on your computer and mirror it so that it is printed mirror-inverted on the transparent or colored A-Foil. The laser printer is used for this. 2. press the A-Foil and the B-Paper together, but separate them while they are still hot. This procedure increases the opacity of the motif considerably and the weeding step is completely eliminated. 3. now you press the motif onto the textile of your choice using the transfer press. After it has cooled down, you only have to remove the foil and that’s it!
A special highlight of the laser printing process is the possibility to print with special white toner on dark textiles. You exchange the black toner of your laser printer with the white one: Thus all areas that are black on the computer are printed in white.
